A baby’s first year is filled with extraordinary growth, meaningful connections and precious milestones. In our Gumnut Nursery, we provide a calm, nurturing and responsive environment where every baby feels safe, loved and secure.

Our caring educators work closely with families to understand each baby’s individual routines, preferences, cues and developmental needs. Feeding, sleeping, nappy changing and quiet moments are approached with patience and care, creating valuable opportunities to build trust, strengthen relationships and support each baby’s sense of wellbeing and belonging.

Through sensory exploration, music, movement, stories, tummy time and age-appropriate play, babies are gently encouraged to discover the world around them. These experiences support their physical development, early communication, curiosity and growing confidence.

We carefully balance familiar routines with the flexibility needed to follow each baby’s natural rhythm. With close communication between families and educators, we create a personalised learning journey that allows every baby to flourish in their own time and in their own way.

Growing confidence through discovery

In the Koala Climbers Room, children are becoming increasingly mobile, curious and eager to explore. Every movement, sound and interaction becomes an opportunity to learn as they begin to understand themselves, connect with others and develop greater confidence in their abilities.

Our educators provide a safe and engaging environment where children can crawl, climb, walk, investigate and experiment at their own pace. Through music, sensory experiences, language-rich interactions, creative play and outdoor discovery, children strengthen their coordination, communication and early problem-solving skills.

Warm and responsive relationships remain at the heart of the program. Educators support children as they express their needs and emotions, form friendships and begin making simple choices. Familiar routines provide security and predictability, while flexible learning experiences respond to each child’s emerging interests and developmental needs.

By encouraging exploration and celebrating every new achievement, we help our Koalas develop a strong sense of belonging, growing independence and a joyful curiosity about their world.

Independence, imagination and connection

The toddler years are an exciting time when children develop a stronger sense of identity, independence and voice. In the Wombat Room, children are encouraged to express their ideas, explore their emotions and become active participants in their learning.

Our daily rhythm provides children with a reassuring balance of predictable routines, child-led exploration and educator-guided experiences. When children know what to expect, they feel more secure and confident to participate, make choices and take increasing responsibility for everyday tasks.

Through imaginative play, creative arts, music, movement, stories, construction and nature-based experiences, children develop their language, physical coordination, problem-solving abilities and social confidence. Educators gently guide children as they learn to share, cooperate, form friendships and manage their emotions.

Our learning journey remains flexible and responsive to each child’s strengths, interests and developmental needs. Within a warm and stimulating environment, every Wombat is supported to become a capable, confident and increasingly independent learner.

Curious minds and joyful learning

Three-year-olds are filled with curiosity, imagination and an increasing desire to understand how the world works. Our Kookaburra Kindergarten program offers a well-rounded, play-based learning journey that encourages children to investigate, create, communicate and develop their own ideas.

Led by qualified early childhood professionals, the program is shaped by children’s interests, abilities and experiences. Through purposeful play, group projects, storytelling, creative arts, early numeracy, nature exploration and problem-solving, children build important foundations for learning and life.

Children are supported to develop their language and early literacy skills, express and regulate their emotions, build positive friendships and participate confidently within a group. Educators extend children’s thinking through thoughtful questions, meaningful conversations and carefully designed learning environments.

Guided by the EYLF and VEYLDF, our program recognises every child as a capable and active learner. By balancing familiar routines with flexible, child-led experiences, we provide a warm and inspiring environment where curiosity is celebrated and a lifelong love of learning can grow.

Our Kangaroo Kindergarten is a place where children take confident leaps in their learning, developing the skills, dispositions and confidence that support them both now and into the future. While preparing children for a successful transition to school is an important part of our program, we believe the kindergarten years are about so much more.

These are the years when children strengthen their sense of identity, build meaningful friendships, develop emotional resilience, become capable problem-solvers and discover themselves as confident, curious learners. Through rich, purposeful experiences inspired by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), children are encouraged to question, investigate, create, collaborate and think deeply about the world around them.

As children grow in independence, resilience and self-regulation, our educators thoughtfully extend their learning through play-based inquiry, intentional teaching and authentic opportunities for leadership. By nurturing both the academic foundations and the social and emotional capabilities that underpin lifelong learning, we support every child to leave our centre with confidence, curiosity and genuine excitement for the journey ahead.
